Hi and welcome to my website Dine with Emma, my name is Emma Louise and I would like to tell you a little about me. Self taught Chef, even a Zumba instructor for 8 years and a big fan of pink! I am a super proud mum to my 17 year old daughter Deanna, who is my chief food critic. She eats a great spectrum of food from snails to squid, spinach to avocado and everything in between! She just knows when food tastes great. You will hear from her throughout the website too. Currently having a vegetarian phase (or maybe more than a phase) so reducing meat in our household is very definitely a ‘thing’ right now.
I lived in Portugal for 15, but hail from the UK. I have had my own restaurants there specialising in international tapas. I won awards locally for my cooking and now have a dedicated private catering business. If you would like to learn more about Dine with Emma – Catering click to see the personal chef services that I offer. I also have a Facebook page for you to check out.
I love a challenge, when I first moved to Portugal, I could pretty much only cook the basics, now others ask me to cook for them. I couldn’t dance either (or rather didn’t know I could dance), yet ended up teaching Zumba! I definitely love a challenge and I’m never afraid to think outside the box. I have never designed a website before, so here starts my latest challenge, Dine with Emma, I hope you will join me for my journey. I’m still learning with the whole website ‘thing’, so, if something doesn’t look perfect, or hasn’t been formatted correctly, please bear with me!
I wanted to set up a website because I have so many recipes and stories in my head that I just wanted a way to have them in print, a great ‘keepsake’ for my daughter too. We still have old recipe books written by my grandmother in the family, so this is kind of a modern day version and better still, I get to share them with you!
I would love to hear from you too, if you cook one of my dishes, send me a photo! I would love to receive comments on how it worked (or didn’t!) for you. If you would like to receive emails to let you know when I have added new and exciting recipes to Dine with Emma, simply fill in your email in the subscribe box. I’m so excited that you are here with me on this culinary journey, so thank you! Oh and be sure to bookmark Dine with Emma so you can find me easily and benefit from my delicious recipes.
